RIH: 2020 Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP)

Open for Public Comment

Dear Partners:

RIHousing will soon implement the 2020 Qualified Allocation Plan for Housing Tax Credits (QAP), which is designed to establish criteria for the allocation of Housing Tax Credits in Rhode Island.

For 2020, the Housing Tax Credit is expected to be one of the primary funding sources for the development of affordable rental homes in Rhode Island.

The draft QAP, which can be viewed online, outlines the process for allocation of Housing Credits and is available for public comment and review. Input from this public hearing and comment period will be considered in the final Allocation Plan.

Housing Tax Credits have been a critical element in leveraging private investment to build homes across Rhode Island. The federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credit is one of the most effective tools created for financing the development of affordable housing, helping fund almost 3 million homes across the country.

Sincerely,

Carol Ventura
Interim Executive Director
