ProJo: McKee proposes $11.2-billion budget with no call for broad tax hikes

PROVIDENCE — On his ninth day as governor, Democrat Dan McKee unveiled $11.2 billion in proposed spending to lead Rhode Island out of the pandemic — and beyond — without any steep tax increases..

"While my number-one priority is COVID-19 and getting shots in arms, my budget also looks ahead to the needs that will persist even after the threat of this virus subsides,'' he said Thursday as he rolled out his plans.
