PBN: FHLB provides $1.8M for affordable housing in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE - The Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston last week announced it provided $1.8 million in grants and loans to support affordable housing in Rhode Island.

The cooperatively owned wholesale bank for housing provided more than $37.5 million throughout the region to support 42 affordable-housing initiatives in New England.

The funding for Rhode Island went toward 241 affordable units of rental and ownership throughout the state. The funds were awarded through third-party financial institutions, which partner with FHLB Boston.
