LISC RI: April is Financial Literacy Month

Stephanie Jones-Pringle Delivers Life-Changing Instruction in Financial Literacy Through LISC-Sponsored Programs at Amos House.

“The program is making a dramatic impact on people,” says Jones-Pringle. “Developing your financial literacy is a critical component for anyone to be successful. When you're in the middle of one of life's little bumps, it's even more important.”

Success Story: Miguel Escobedo

After Miguel Escobedo was injured in a fall down some stairs, he struggled to make ends meet.

He found success after taking the Culinary Training course at Amos House. The course, supported by LISC's SNAP Employment and Training Program, helped him find a job and get back on track.

Financial Literacy Takes Center stage with the Treasurer's Financial Empowerment Roundtable

The Financial Empowerment Roundtable, launched by Treasurer Magaziner, brings together government, non-profits, educators, businesses, and bankers to network and share ideas on ways to improve financial stability among Rhode Islanders.

LISC Rhode Island was one of the first groups to share the successes of our Financial Opportunity Center and Bridges to Career Opportunity models, and highlights from LISC's SNAP Employment and Training Program which provides education, training and support programs for SNAP participants.
