Your BHRI dollars at work in Pawtucket!
Event Date: May 13, 2011 - 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Last week, the Pawtucket Citizens Development Corporation (PCDC) and their partners offered a tour of a new three-story, mixed-use building that is part of the Blackstone Valley Gateways development. This development has received special recognition as being part of a "KeepSpace Community", in part because of its easy access to transportation.

When fully complete, Phase 1 of Blackstone Valley Gateways will include 33 affordable rental homes.
Among the several sources of funding, Building Homes Rhode Island, the state's housing bond, contributed $1,775,000 to the development.
Building Homes Rhode Island will be fully spent at the end of this fiscal year and the Neighborhood Opportunities Program (NOP), which helps low-wage workers afford their rent, has been cut from the Governor's proposed state budget. Combined, this represents a 97 percent drop in state funding for long-term affordable homes in Rhode Island.
