Remembering John Joyce

John Joyce, the co-founder of the Rhode Island Homeless Advocacy Project (RIHAP), passed away last week. John was a tireless grassroots organizer who worked to engage homeless and formerly homeless individuals in efforts to end homelessness.
During his career, John authored and advocated for the passage of the Rhode Island Homeless Bill of Rights, the first of its kind in the nation. He also collaborated with RIHAP to introduce and pass the Homeless Hate Crimes Bill.
John will be remembered at a memorial service on Thursday, February 21st beginning at 9 a.m. at Beneficent Congregational Church, 300 Weybosset Street in Providence. All are welcome.
