Honk When You Drive By: Our Campaign Takes to the Highways!
We're taking the campaign on the road! Three Vote Yes on 9 billboards and 20 roadside posters are going up overlooking Rhode Island’s highways on October 1.
You’ll be able to check out the large billboards heading south on Route 146 at 400 Charles Street, driving east on Route 195 at the Broadway Avenue exit, and going north on Route 95 at Route 10. The posters will be along major roadways throughout Rhode Island.
Five of our 50 Stories are featured in the billboards and posters. Kate is a 24-year-old veterinary technician who lives with her parents but is striving for a place of her own. Shelley lives at Harbor House, Church Community Housing's affordable apartments for seniors overlooking Newport Harbor. The Munoz family bought their home in Pawtucket after taking a homebuyers course offered by Blackstone Valley CAP. Becky bought a house through Rhode Island Housing and made a home for her adopted son, Ernie. And you’ll remember the Hill family as the featured guests at the Vote Yes on 9 kick-off press conference last week.
Next Tuesday, October 3, we'll be unveiling Shelley's billboard and featuring other local stories at a press conference at Harbor House, 111 Washington Street, Newport, at 3:30 p.m. Join us for milk and cookies!
