Warwick Mayor Avedisian backs Question 9
Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian enthusiastically declared his support for Question 9 at a press conference last week.
Local residents and advocates packed the House of Hope CDC headquarters on October 16 to rally in support of the $50 million housing bond. “Affordable housing is everybody's issue,” said Mayor Avedisian. “I urge every voter to think of their family, friends, and neighbors and Vote Yes On 9 for a stronger Rhode Island.”
Two Warwick residents, Carl Freefe and Donna Tatro, also spoke in favor of Question 9. Both struggled to find homes they could afford in the area. The event received great coverage from ABC 6, 630 WPRO, the Warwick Beacon, and the Warwick and Kent County Daily Times.
Mayor Avedisian is president of the Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns, which voted unanimously to endorse Question 9.

The Providence Journal also ran an October 20 article on Question 9 highlighting its connection to the state’s affordable housing plan.
