New Shoreham is the town located on Block Island in Washington County, Rhode Island. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 109.5 square miles, of which 99.8 square miles is water. It was established in 1664 and incorporated by Home Rule Charter on October 30, 1672. New Shoreham's government is composed of a Town Council and a Town Manager. The Town Council is comprised of a First Warden, Second Warden and three Town Councilors, elected each even numbered year for a two-year term.
