Lead is a powerful neurotoxin that is all around us: in the paint on our walls, our soil, our pipes, and our homes. This panel is for law students, working professionals, and folks in the wider RWU community who want to learn about what lead is and how to address it in our homes. Meet the attorneys, organizers, and health advocates who sued the paint companies twenty years ago, and the young organizers and attorneys who are leading the fight today. Hear from recent graduates about how YOU can build a career in public interest right here in Rhode Island.

Featured Panelists
  • Tyler Romero - RWU Class of 2021, Assistant City Solicitor for Housing and Equity for the City of Central Falls

  • Mariel Garcia - RWU Class of 2021, Legal Fellow, Rhode Island Center for Justice

  • Cindy Singleton - Assistant Health Program Administrator, Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH)

  • Vincent L. Greene VI - Member, Motley Rice

  • Laura Brion - Executive Director, Childhood Lead Action Project

  • Keith Hoffmann - Chief, Civil and Community Rights Unit at the Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General
